TOUR: Hidden Frey
One of Modernism Week’s Featured Homes this year is the Hidden Frey, a newly restored 1966 Frey-designed residence that has remained below the radar both literally and figuratively for decades.  Unknown to even Palm Springs architectural historians, this unique property is sunken below street level, making it one of the city’s best kept secrets, until now!  With their signature flair, Thomboy Properties is restoring this gem and unveiling it during Modernism Week with public tours and a series of special events.  Tour tickets are available here.

FILM: “Albert Frey, Part 1: The Architectural Envoy”
Don’t miss your chance to see the first installment of a two-part documentary film series produced by Design Onscreen.  This film explores Frey’s early life and work in Europe to his New York architectural accomplishments in the 1930s, including the famed Aluminaire House (which will soon call Palm Springs its permanent home), the Canvas Weekend House, and several of his notable commissions in Palm Springs.  Watch the film then pop by the Hidden Frey for a cocktail reception afterwards.  Tickets available here.
