Modernism Week Featured Home: “Sunburst Palms” | $35 | Times vary

On April 9-12 and 15-18, 2021, tour H3K Design’s latest renovation of a 1956 Lawrence Lapham property in the Deepwell neighborhood, and be inspired by their fun-filled and colorful take on classic midcentury modern design. This quintessentially midcentury modern house celebrates extreme design angles typical of the era and interesting, organic shapes throughout.

Modernism Week Featured Home: “Seventies Sackley” | $35 | Times vary

This stunning 1975 Stan Sackley residence is located in the prestigious Indian Canyons neighborhood. Boasting deep midcentury roots and distinctive architectural styles, the home was recently reimagined by interior designers Michael Ostrow and Roger Stoker of Grace Home Furnishings. Tour the home April 9-12 and 15-18, 2021.

Tour Famed Architect John Lautner’s Iconic 1947 Living Units at The Lautner Compound | $50 | 1 hour

Once a year, The Lautner Compound opens their doors to the public for tours during Modernism Week. This year it’s happening April 9-11 and 16-18! These limited capacity, self-guided and socially-distanced tours will take you inside the spectacular and visionary architecture of John Lautner.

Desert Modernism: Two Perspectives. Two Home Tours – Kappe and Lockyer | $60 | 1 hour

Sited in Desert Palisades on the stunning Chino Canyon alluvial fan, this boulder-strewn desert landscape is a perfect framework for celebrated architect Raymond Kappe’s last project, and Studio AR&D Architects founding principal Sean Lockyer’s newly completed Desert Palisades project. Palm Springs Life has partnered with the Kappe family, Sean Lockyer, and Desert Palisades to bring these homes to the public eye from April 8-18, 2021.

Mod with a TWIST | $55 | 90 minutes

Mod With a TWIST is a light-hearted deep dive into some of the more obscure topics about the midcentury. If this is your first time at Modernism Week, this is a must-see! You will be guaranteed to laugh and learn something new as you enjoy a complimentary glass of wine, poolside at the historic Desert Star. Two different shows nightly, held at 5:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Fins and Tails – Classic Private Car Collection | $25 | 30 minutes

Presented by the Palm Springs Modern Committee, this April 12, 2021 showcase is the perfect event for the ultimate autophile. View a large collection of restored classic American and European collectable cars featuring dramatic fins, exotic modern styling, and big engines.

Hot Purple Energy Architectural Bike Ride | Free | Times vary

This popular midcentury excursion returns for another ride through some of Palm Springs’ historic neighborhoods. Please note that bikes will not be provided, so be sure to bring your own set of wheels or make a reservation at Big Wheel Tours (contact Ali at asnowden@bwbtours.com or (760)548-0500).

“A Night out on the Town” a Fashion Retrospective Over the Decades| $60 | 3 hours

Take a stroll down memory lane during “A Night Out on the Town,” an exciting fashion retrospective on April 11, 2021. Head to the historic Temple Isaiah to shop vintage goods from the Mitchells Palm Springs Pop Up, and participate in a lively Q&A with celebrity stylist Neil Cohen. A portion of proceeds from this event will be donated to Temple Isaiah.
