As we approach the end of an eventful year, we find ourselves cherishing simple joys and feeling all the more grateful for this Modernism Week community. While we might be celebrating the season apart, we wanted to help you and your loved ones know that they are near in heart!

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite midcentury and modern goodies for every kind of design-lover in your life. Read on for unique stocking stuffers, gifts that give back, ways to shop small, and more.

For the Philanthropist

Go above and beyond with a gift that supports a cause that you (and your favorite modernist) care about. Purchase a Modernism Week gift card, which can be used to purchase tickets for any current or future Modernism Week event. All proceeds will be dedicated to Modernism Week’s mission to celebrate and foster appreciation of midcentury and modern architecture and design.

You can also make a year-end tax-deductible gift in a loved one’s name, and support Modernism Week’s efforts to create scholarships, develop educational programs, produce entertaining events, invest in our community, and expand for the future.

For the Sartorialist

If Santa wanted to step up his suit game, he might look to this spiffy seasonal blazer from Mr Turk (although we also love this soft, merino wool color-blocked Barrow Scarf). Stay cozy with a pair of Tiki Leaf socks from SHAG the Store, vintage kaftans from The Fine Art of Design, or a colorful shirt from the Modernism Week Shop by Destination PSP. Need to venture out? Do it in style and wear a mod mask.

For the Bibliophile

The Desert Modernists: The Architects Who Envisioned Midcentury Modern Palm Springs is an annual favorite, with good reason: this commemorative book provides a detailed account of the architects who shaped “desert modern” architecture, with spectacular photography (many never-before-seen or published) of their most significant and historical projects.

Stock your shelves with must-have design books from Phaidon, like Modern in the Middle, Wayne Thom, Philip Johnson, Anni & Josef Albers, or the Mid-Century Modern Travel Guide: West Coast USA. (Use the discount code FALL20 at checkout for 20% off all purchases for both Monacelli and Phaidon books at Phaidon.com.)

For the Coffee Connoisseur

Know someone missing a cup of joe from their favorite Palm Springs coffeeshop? Send a bag of specialty roasts from Six Coffee or Koffi. You can also sign up for Koffi’s custom subscription program and keep the caffeine flowing. Pair your gift with a Modernism Week mug for the perfect start to a modernist morning! If you’re feeling especially fancy, grab some ice cubes from a Grace Home Collection© vintage ice bucket to treat yourself to an iced version of your best brew.

For the Wellness Guru

There’s no place like om…especially in 2020. This year, it’s all about self-care. Inhale the healing fragrances of Soukie Modern’s candles (the ceramic bowl doubles as eye-catching decor after the candle is gone). Exhale as you move through a healing yoga practice on a pastel terrazzo yoga mat from the Palm Springs Style Shop. Indulge in hydrating aromatherapy with The Body Deli’s collection of organic superfood skincare.
